If you’ve used or relied on GarbinWx over the past few days, you’ve probably noticed that our radar feeds have been unavailable. I want to be completely transparent about what is happening behind the scenes.
DOST-PAGASA recently introduced significant changes to their PANaHON radar API, the primary and sole source for Philippine radar imagery. As part of these updates, access to individual radar views has been restricted, alongside changes that prevent third parties from archiving images. This issue isn't unique to GarbinWx either, as major platforms like Windy have also lost their feeds.
I want to reassure you: GarbinWx is not going anywhere.
This platform was built with resilience in mind. We are actively working on restoring the national composite as soon as possible. Unfortunately, individual station views are no longer available due to these new changes and restrictions.Building and running this service for the community means the world to me.
